No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn every little thing he could about the game. Phil would tell his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He didn’t let the adverse feedback from others destroy his ambition of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.
He began playing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed many of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. Phil says that he is learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. Phil knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a regular basis.
