NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker competitor in the world by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa showed him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn whatever he could about the game. He routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his ambition of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.
Phil began playing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a common thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his success to discipline and a continuing love for the game of poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his success. He knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Although Phil has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
